 "Unsafe Product" 2009-12-29
By M. Bruns (St. Louis, MO)
Please do your research before purchasing this or any other sleep positioner that claims to reduce the risk of SIDS. Pillows, wedges, and positioning devices are not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics or Consumer Reports. They have not been adequately tested to support their claim of reducing the risk of SIDS and may even increase the risk of suffocation. (the device itself can become a barrier to the baby's breathing) Babies are safest when placed on their backs in a crib with no soft bedding, pillows, or toys around. Usually when babies are old enough to roll over on their own, they are past the most critical period for SIDS (2-4 months).

"Great frame, not so great mattress" 2009-12-15
By Mama W (US Army (all over the world))
Like another review I read when making my purchase, we had originally intended to have our child sleep in the pack n play/ bassinet. However, she came a few weeks early and was very tiny and didn't feel that it was right for a 4 lb baby to sleep all by herself. We love the protective edge this provides, as well as the comforting noise & night light. The only drawback of the design is the mattress. It's too hard. Fortunately we received another sleep positioner for our baby shower that fits in it and is much softer. I wish I could remember the name of it, but I threw the box away awhile ago. She now sleeps in the snugglenest inside her pack n play (@ 6 weeks of age) because my husband and I don't sleep comfortably with her between us. He's afraid he'll roll over on her; he can't stretch out enough and we're in a King. Both of us are bed hogs, so it would work very well with parents who don't starfish at night :) In the mornings when he goes to work, I bring her into bed with me, in the snuggle nest, after the morning feeding. She sleeps better in bed with me at that time of day.

 "Rough on baby" 2009-10-25
By Kal-El (Metropolis, USA)
I bought this because my wife wanted our son to sleep with us. My son didn't like it when he was a newborn, so we tried it again when he was two months old. Still he didn't like it. We figured that the material of the sleeper is poor, especially the side support cushions that are abrasive to the skin.

All and all, my son used it for no more than 15 min.

"Really good.. I use it off and on with my 12lb. 2 month old." 2009-10-22
By A. Fryar (Los Angeles, CA)
THE GOOD:

**Better quality sleep - Definitely relieves the stress from fear of laying on the baby while he's in bed with us which = better quality sleep. I believe this would be nicer on a King-size bed rather than Queen-size like ours (roomier).

**Portability - Can move this around the house easily (e.t.c. to the our big couch in lvg rm..). Very lightweight even while baby is on it.

THE BAD:

**As is, it isn't padded / soft enough for my baby - He would cry whenever I placed him in it at the beginning because the hardness & thinness of the pad got to him. Found I had to super-pad the interior space with 3 soft/medium thickness blankets (with cotton sheet on top) before he could be comfortable.

**Short term - My son is a bit on the large side so I see that he has about a month and half more in this, tops.

OVERALL:

I consider this a great buy. It serves our needs well. Especially great to have around for the first few months of newborn's life if you want him in bed with you.

"Horrible -- Do not waste your $$" 2009-10-15
By Carrie Morris (Sherrills Ford, NC)
I can't believe I wasted almost $70 on this product. First of all, it is hard as a brick. I don't blame my infant for hating it. His pack-n-play bassinet is more comfortable than this thing. Second -- it is too narrow. My son is only 2 weeks old (around 9 pounds) and doesn't fit comfortably between the side positioners. The only positive thing I can say around the product is the light -- I found it helpful when searching for the binky &/or trying to southe my little one in the middle of the night. Otherwise, a complete waste of my time & money.
