"Great at home and EASILY Portable!" 2010-05-08
By Jaime (Great Falls, VA)
I purchased the Baby Bjorn Babysitter Balance and the Toy Bar solely based upon reviews before my son was born. My husband was shocked that as frugal as I am, and as few "things" as I wanted before my first child arrived, that I made this relatively expensive purchase. I'm writing almost 8 months later to say THIS IS STILL THE BEST BABY PURCHASE I HAVE MADE.

I started using it when my boy was about 8 weeks and I needed to work-from-home. He sat next to my desk, and when he would get fussy, I'd help him bounce with a light movement of my foot. As he got older (12 weeks maybe), he moves his legs and bounces himself softly. We use this everywhere. It collapses so I am not "embarassed" with all my baby-gear. And moms everywhere eye it suspiciously and then with envy. When we dine on the deck, out comes the Bjorn. When I need to work around the house, in he goes. He loves it. Unlike some reviews, my baby doesn't sleep in it...but he definitely plays or relaxes depending on his mood.

I'm sure not all babies are the same, but boy, am I happy with the Babysitter balance. :)

 "Best for firstborns" 2010-04-16
By A. Osis (Maine)
In general I am quite pleased with the Babybjorn Babysitter, with the exception of it proving to be a tempting catapult for my older child to launch her little brother from. Also, it was so expensive I wished I had it for my first child just to feel as though I was getting my money's worth! Its sturdily built and I especially like how I can gently rock it with my foot while I'm sitting down to eat dinner.

"Absolute "Must Have" for parents of GERD/Reflux babies." 2010-04-14
By B. Phillips (Massachusetts)
I bought this for my first son when he was diagnosed with GERD. Honestly, this saved my sanity! I had to hold my son upright constantly (including at night) just to keep him from vomiting and to keep the acid down in his tummy (or else constant pain and screaming). It was exhausting! I found the Baby Bjorn Babysitter and it was the ONLY seat my son could sit in comfortably and happily. Because it does not bend in the middle (causing pressure on the baby's tummy and therefore reflux) my son could sit in it and was perfectly content. You have NO IDEA how much this seat helped us!

I am now using this seat again with my second son who, unfortunately, is another GERD baby. He's snoozing in it right now as I type.

Seriously, if your baby has reflux, get this seat. It's expensive, I know. I paid $105 when I bought mine about 2 1/2 years ago, but it was well worth it to me and still is. If you can't afford the price, try craigslist. I see them on there from time to time. These things take a beating and don't seem to show too much wear and tear. Great product!!!!

 "A MUST" 2010-03-09
By Laura (Raleigh, NC)
We borrowed one of the older models with our first baby and I had to give it back, so now I have this one! It's expensive, but worth the money. It's so easy to fold up and travel with. Baby bounces when they move, it's comfy to sleep in, like a hammock, and you can tote it with you anywhere you need to keep an eye on baby, especially great outside. My firstborn didn't like the swing/vibrating seats with all the attachments. After 5 minutes it was stimulation overload. I found on this, you can clip on a toy, but usually baby is happy just hanging out, looking at everything around, or falling asleep peacefully!
