This may very well be one of the best playmats we've come across! The surface is covered with different activities to stimulate baby's senses. Crinkle paper waits to be discovered in the pink and red balloons and orange patches. Squeakers wait to be pushed in the yummy soft heart and purple balloon. Mint green loops wait to be pulled. A small foil mirror awaits baby's curious gaze. And that's just for tummy time! When baby wants to be on her back let her try to grasp one of the four removable toys. A heart book number 2 and squeaking cake hang tantalizingly from the fabric-covered arch. We love the bright saturated colors and thoughtful activities for non-mobile babies. We're also big fans of the variety of activities and textures on the mats surface and the ultra thick padding in the mat. That it is machine washable is a big big plus! Made of mixed cotton/polyester fabrics with foam filling. Wash in cold water and hang dry or tumble dry on coolest lowest setting. Hanging toys are attached via small pads of velcro. Can be folded in half with arches attached. Arches remove via a hidden plastic snap when it's time to wash the mat.

I really loved this playmat.... it is much thicker and more plush than any other I have felt. Each of the little animals on the mat has a sensory feature (one squeaks, the rabbit has a crinkly ear, there is a wooden ring attached to one, and there is a mirror on one). It is SO soft and feels really nice and like great quality.



Unfortunately, here are the cons:

-The arches that go over top are held up by tucking the large flower-shaped end pieces into the flaps on the corner of the mat. It works once you've got all 4 corners tucked in, but as soon as you pick it up to move it (even just a couple of feet) inevitably at least 1 of the flower-shaped end pieces pops out of the corner flap it was tucked into, requiring you to set it up again. Not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance.



-My major complaint is that the yellow arch on mine broke today :*(..... it is completely snapped inside so it arches 2/3 of the way and then just flops down all broken-like. My 3 year old daughter somehow managed to completely snap whatever material it is inside of the soft yellow velour fabric that covers the piece. Before she broke it it was often somewhat askew, hard to keep the yellow & green arches perfectly rounded and connected in the middle the way they are supposed to be- there's just a little strip of fabric with a square of velcro on one of the arches so you can wrap it around the other one to connect the two- not ideal.



In all, it'll be a great tummy time mat but the arches and dangling toys will not be usable for my baby. She is only a month old, so she never got to enjoy playing with the stuff that hangs from the arches before the piece broke. Bummer. If this weren't such an expensive item it wouldn't be a big deal- but this is not cheap and supposed to be high quality, so I'm pretty disappointed that mine is broken.
