We got this jumper for our 3 months old daughter, she was developing fast and was trying to stand on her legs with our support and this was breaking my back to be honest. I decided to go ahead and try getting a jumper ahead of time, I know she's still too young for it looking at other reviews. Anyways, so far this jumper does what it's meant to. She likes hanging there and trying to use her feet. She can't jump yet but she likes being there and turn around to see the world from all angles. She does get fussy if she's left alone there but shee's too small to be that independent yet so I am not blaming the jumper. I read reviews about the difficulty of getting babies in and out of the jumper. Well, it's not easy in the beginning and it took 2 people in our case to learn how not to make her cry before we manage to squeeze her in the jumper. Now I can do it by myself, it just takes some experience to learn to do it without tears. It's not terribly hard to be honest. We have quite low doorways and I didn't want to risk getting more expensive jumpers that have specific requirements for higher ceilings.
So, don't waste money on jumpers with trays if your doorways are not wide. You can't really put the jumper in a normal doorway cause when the baby starts swinging he/she can hit the sides of the doorway. We had to forget our idea to hang the jumper in our family room cause it didn't have any wide open doorways. No we're jumping in the hallway, oh well. :) Now we know better.

we were given the "Osh Kosh" model by a friend. she'd received it as a baby shower present and never used it.
we set it up and put our seven month old, twenty pound son into it. we had to adjust it so that his feet would reach the floor and the spring was very stiff but he enjoyed "standing up" in it and swaying. we encouraged him to bounce and he got into it, but still fairly gentle bounces. we sat down here in the same room with him and it wasn't five minutes later that the metal plate which the strap feeds into for adjustment wore through the nylon strap and it broke, dumping my baby on the floor to be hit on the head by the plastic shaft that contains the spring.
I went to Evenflo's website but saw that we won't be able to contact them until the morning - it's Sunday night right now. I found on the web another complaint about the exact same thing happening, but to a smaller baby girl who fell and hit the back of her head and was then hit in the face with the spring portion of the seat.
I won't be giving Evenflo any more business, and will be passing this information along to all the parents I know.

My son just isn't into this. He screamed when I tried to put him in it. Maybe he's too young at 6 months.

My daughter has been using he Jenny Jump Up since she was 7 months old. At first she just dangled there, but after a week or so she got the hang of jumping. Now, at nearly 9 months, I don't know who gets a bigger kick out of it--her or everyone who gets to see her jumping and giggling. Now that she is becoming more mobile she only tolerates it for short spurts, but she does have a blast for those 7 minutes! I was concerned about damage to the door moulding, but so far I see none. Here's why I like it:
1. At about $20, you can't go wrong. Throw in another $5 item on Amazon and you may qualify for free shipping.
2. It's space efficient and travels well (as long as you are going to a place with the right size interior door jams and trim)
3. So far we have had no injuries with it--though my daughter is not unusually acrobatic--just the typical jumper.
4. It was just the thing to keep my baby occupied when she wanted to stand/jump but was still pretty immobile (and when I was unable to assist)
Here are a few things to note:
1.Some reviewers complain that the spring is too stiff, but it's actually a friction problem (when the spring rubs against the plastic tube that encases it). I used a q-tip to smear petroleum jelly (chosen for it's baby safeness) between the spring and plastic casing, and it fixed the problem.
2. Make sure you have an interior door jam that fits the specified width and that has trim around it. Otherwise you will not be able to use it.
3. It can be a pain getting the child in (aiming squirmy legs for two holes in a dangling seat) and back out (you pick up the child and the seat comes, too). If you are willing to put up with the minor inconvenience, its a great toy.
4. I only gave it 4 stars beacuse it can only be used for a small window of time--from the time they have good head control till the time they prefer to move around freely. But for $20, maybe I'm expecting too much!
