I ordered this product for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. The product is extremely easy to use and comfortable - much better than Kate Spade MacLaren, because the harness was hard to put on and I didn't feel comfortable leaving the baby in it b/c I felt she would easily tip over. Although this specific model was recalled, I called Baby Bjorn customer service and confirmed that all of the products sold by Amazon were rechecked by the manufacturer and did pass the safety inspection. There is a green sticker on the back of the unit for every item that was checked.

Recall or not we love this seat. (We received a box with a green sticker on it which means it was scanned and metal part free.) The seating angle is perfect for my refluxing son. The tush part of the seat is deep enough that they feel snuggled in there. The swaying motion from their kicking is just right to soothe them when they're sitting there and will even soothe my son to sleep. It is attractive looking, very lightweight and portable, and easy to use. I just slide him in and out when I need to, don't even need to fuss with the buttons. I love that it folds flat, too, with minimal fuss.
We also got the cozy cover (elsewhere at a discount I might add) and it was definitely worth it. The cover is waterproof in the seat area and also helps keep a younger infant more comfortable in the seat. I think they should include the cover and the toy at this price point, but that aside this was a great purchase. It has been worth every penny.

The BabySitter Balance is a great product even though it is a bit pricey. We were told there was a recall so we sent the chair back. We were left without a chair for almost 3 weeks and had to call Baby Swede customer service numerous times. We finally talked to the right person and received our chair back. Be aware if you have to deal with Baby Swede directly.

When I was looking for a bouncy, I couldn't understand why this one was double the price compared to the others. At six weeks postpartum I understand! This product is magical! My baby loves it! She was small at birth, five and a half pounds- and this is one of the few products that she could use right away. The balance keeps her content and happy for long stretches of time. It allows me to take a shower and get things done around the house. The design is so simple, baby is comfortable and everyone is happy.

Expecting families - don't buy this product. There is a recall issued July 2009 for it. I received one at my baby shower convinced that this was a more stylish option than the other "baby looking" bouncy seats. I wish I had returned it then and now I really don't want the thing. It was extremely expensive compared to other options (your baby will only want to sit in it before he/she can walk) and it has now been recalled. I just got off the phone with customer service at baby bjorn and they informed me that in order to participate in the recall (seems that sharp metal parts may protrude from the padded seat and injure your baby). The only remedy they offered was for me to pack the darn thing up (as if I have time to do that while working full time with a 2 month old) and wait two weeks for them to x-ray it and send it back if it doesn't have said sharp metal objects or send me a new one if it does. What am I supposed to do for two weeks while I'm waiting for this - my daughter refuses to do anyting in the evening except sit in her bouncy seat while I make dinner.
Believe me, you want a bouncy seat that vibrates (one of the only things that would soothe her at 4 weeks)- my inlaws have a Fisher Price Kick and Play and I wish I had that instead.
