I agree with previous reviewers that the Bumbo's usefulness depends on your child's personality. My mommy friends led me to believe that this was a "must-have" that every child would love. It's a cute product, innovative and it appears to be well-designed. I saw no reason my baby wouldn't like it! However, it turns out that my daughter was just way more interested in moving than sitting still. The first few times we tried to put her in it (3-4 months) she didn't have enough trunk control and slouched over, so we removed her. By the time she was 5-6 months, she was constantly arching her back and trying to launch herself out of the Bumbo. She was learning to crawl and valued mobility over sitting and watching the world go by. Ultimately, it wasn't the best investment for our family. I wish I had bought one used instead of paying full price for it (because I was naive and so sure it was the perfect baby product). We did use it the first couple of weeks she was eating solids, but we will probably put our next child straight in the high chair when she reaches that stage. I did keep it and I am holding out hope that our next child will appreciate the Bumbo more than our first. Maybe then we can get our money's worth!

This is a great seat!!! My baby is just taking an interest in sitting up (hates to be laying down) and this chair lets him see everything I'm doing. Maybe not a good product for a baby that can already sit up on their own or be used to contain your baby as stated in a past review. Then you may have issues with them getting out since sitting up with help is boring to them. Common sense. I would recommend this seat to any parent!!

I am a mommy of three, my youngest being 5 months and we love the Bumbo chair! My only complaint is that I didn't have this neat chair for my two older kids. I remember seeing the Bumbo being used before I had my second little girl, but still was not convinced it was worth the money-after all there are so many baby gadgets and not all of them are worth the money you spend. This one is. Do not hesitate, the Bumbo is worth the money and babies love it (parents too).

We love this seat. We take it to restaurants and sit it right on the table, it is easy to haul around and is comfortable and fits a baby. I took my grand daughter (9-months old) for her first ice cream cone at Dairy Queen. She was too short to reach the table top in the provided high chair. We just went out to the car and got our Bumbo Chair out of the trunk and sit it on the table and was good to go. I love this chair and so does my grand daughter. I would highly recommend this chair as a gift or for your own child. She started sitting in the chair before she was able to sit by herself. I would put her on the counter while I did dishes. I recommend getting the tray that goes with it. Its a mini high chair while baby is waiting to get big enough for a real high chair and is very portable...grandma must have!

My daughter (now 7 months) has been sitting in her lilac Bumbo for several months now. She LOVES it! When she was smaller, I think it gave her a break from the swing & bouncy & felt more "grown up" when placed in it.
After I get out of the shower, I put the Bumbo on the bathroom counter and my daughter watches me get ready, loves seeing her "friend" in the mirror, and plays with her toys (well, drop the toy so mom can pick it up!) Then, when it's time to make dinner, I put the Bumbo on the kitchen counter and she watches me prepare dinner.
As with any other baby product, your child should be supervised while seated in the Bumbo... you should be close just in case it does tip over.
