The same soft, naturally shaped, AVENT nipple, but designed for thicker liquids with a variable flow rate. This nipple has one laser-cut slot instead of holes, so you can vary between 3 flow rates while baby is drinking. Simply turn the bottle to line up the marking on the side of the nipple with babys nose, so that the thicker liquid flows through at the right speed. The higher the number, the wider the opening. Note: Do not use Variable Flow nipples as an alternative to the Slow, Medium and Fast Flow nipples, as marking I is faster than the Fast Flow nipple. At just over 7 months I add rice cereal (and even slip a little pureed baby food) in my baby's bottle. These nipples allow for smooth suction with no collapses and baby is happy!! Baby controls flow and is fully satisfied after drinking. WONDERFUL PRODUCT!!!

I'm a first time mother of twins that are so different. One likes to drink his milk fast and quick they other takes his time. At first I had all types of different holes in the nipples some would be too big for one baby or too small for the other. This nipple is the BEST! IT'S PERFECT! It has 3 different ways of flow feeding, so it works with both my boys.
I replaced every nipple I had with these. TOTALLY THE BEST NIPPLE!

This is quite ingenious! I don't know if any other manufacturers have them, but they are such a great idea. Instead of a hole there is a slot in the top. Around the side are the marks I,II and III. You line up the marks with the baby's nose and that dictates how fast the flow of milk is. This teat allows a thicker liquid to flow through so you can add rice or another cereal of your choice if you need to. My baby is in the 90th percentile and at 8 weeks old Milk just wasn't enough. I put 1 tablespoon of rice in with 4 ounces of milk initially and then later on increased that to 2 tablespoons (all with doctor's approval). It is a much thicker liquid but flowed through this teat easily. I highly recommend these.
