 "dangerous product" 2009-12-05
By Douglass E. Brwown
We bought this product 2 weeks ago. Twice I have found my 4 month old son head down over the edge. I use the product correctly for his nap and buckled in. I strongly discourage any one with an active child from purchasing this product. Once you buy it your stuck with it, No return policy.

"Polyurethane is toxic to your baby" 2009-12-03
By Elizabeth (United States)
We ordered this so that our little one could sleep more upright while he had a bad chest cold. He slept just fine in it, and just as he was starting to get over his cold, I happen to stumble across a post on polyurethane (which is what this thing is made of) and its impact on babies.

Polyurethane apparently is very flammable, so it is doused in toxic flame retardant chemicals. And polyurethane off gasses, breaking down into small particles that become airborne. The neurotoxin toluene offgases from polyurethane. You can easily look up that health hazards from polyurethane foam include: possible cardiac arrhythmias, breathlessness, chest discomfort, irritation of mucous membranes, headache, coughing, asthma-like allergic reaction, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, blurred vision, and reduced pulmonary function. Ugg!

I hate to give such a low rating to something that our baby slept well in, but after reading about the dangers of polyurethane, I wish someone would have alerted me to this. Next time we need elevated bedding for our little one, we'll try to find something that doesn't have polyurethane - some sort of cotton filling or other natural filling. If anyone finds a good, safe replacement for this, please post in the reviews! I would love to know of better options.

 "Overall really good product" 2009-11-22
By lulu (san jose, ca)
Our little girl was diagnosed with reflux at about 6 weeks old and we had already known that she couldn't sleep lying flat. We didn't want her sleeping in her swing forever and tried to figure out how to get her into her crib without lying flat. Then we found this product. It is a little expensive, but we thought it would be worth it. It is definitely a good product, well made and durable. I also like that the cover comes off and is washable because our little girl would throw up occasionally from her reflux (I'd even recommend getting more than one cover so that you can just quickly change it in the middle of the night if needed). The only downside to this product is that you can't use it very long. Around 4 to 4.5 months she started moving so much that we'd go in when she was crying and we found her completely side ways, still buckled in, but completely sideways and clearly uncomfortable. I wish the side were a little higher so that she couldn't go over the side and we could use it longer. Unfortunately, we had to take her out and now she still sleeps most nights in her swing, until her reflux is better and she can lay flat.

 "perfect" 2009-11-22

The Nap Nanny is perfect!! It's soft and cozy, has a water proof middle in case of accidents. Harness keeps baby safe. My baby does not have colic, but could not get cozy in her crib. She just tossed and turned not getting much rest. With Nap Nanny she sleep perfectly now.

 "Really nice product" 2009-11-20
By EC (LOUISIANA)
I would rather have this elevated sleeper than a swing, bouncy or even playpen for my babies. You can secure baby into it in a flash and the fabric and design of it is dreamy. I'm not about having loads of baby gear lying around--don't need my house to look like a daycare center.

I read that some babies have trouble getting comfy, but this happened to me as well and only seemed to last for a few hours. By the end of the day she was so in love with this little lounger. Yes, it is a bit pricey.
