- Natural-shaped nipple, designed to reduce colic and help baby switch from breast to bottle.
- The anti-colic nipple resembles the natural shape of the breast so baby can easily alternate between breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
- When the baby suckles the baby controls with its own suckling rhythm a continuous flow of milk
- The continuous flow of milk significantly reduces air ingestion during feeding and painful gas after feeding.
- Replace bottle nipple every three months or if it appears to be damaged by scratches or tears.

"Best Baby Bottles and Teats." 2009-01-07
By Cousin It
I have some of these 4oz bottles, some 9oz bottles and some 11oz bottles. I also have used a variety of the teats from newborn through to sippy cup. I cannot fault any of them. I have never had any problem with leakages as another reviewer seems to have had. It should also be noted that each baby is different and there are bound to be preferences that they and the mother will have. My little guy was big at birth and these wider teats were just perfect for him. In my opinion these are without doubt the best make of bottle and teat available. My own personal favourite is the Avent adjustable flow teat without which I would never have got any sleep from 2 months through to starting solids. I also have the Avent IQ24 Steamer and it is fantastic too. Highly recommended.

"avant bottles leak, big headache" 2007-12-02
By moms (vancouver, bc canada)
my son had no problems with the nipple or the shape of the bottle (holding it in his little hands). however, this bottle leaks and it's a nightmare to deal with. as another reviewer wrote, you turn it too much and it leaks, you turn it too little and it leaks.

i can't count the number of times the milk leaked from under the cap over his face, neck and clothing. in the middle of the night,it's even more of a headache. i wrote to avent about this problem and i'm sure they have received other complaints. they should have recalled these bottles...if the product does not work in the way it's supposed to, ie. feed your child in a clean, effective, safe manner, then it should not be on the market for people to purchase.

"silly product I've ever seen" 2006-12-04
By Mark Twain (dallas, tx usa)
Right, everyone says Avant is the "best" bottle on the market. I don't mind what the best means by "closest to mom's" or the "no air intake", it totally doesn't work!

I mean it works in some cases, but most of the time I have to try turning one degree more at time. You can't turn it too much or it will leak. You can't turn it too loose or it will leak. If I tried it when I filling in and it doesn't leak, it will leak on my baby's face when feeding! Sometimes it leaks more on the blanket than in the baby's mouth.

Let's face it, come on, make a product that works first, then we can talk about performance. We don't have the problem with any other nipple, even one time use ones. What were Avant thinking?! Maybe it is our bad luck, or maybe all other 'leaking' report doesn't ring any bell to the company!

 "Avent Bottle User" 2001-07-29
By Lori Dobos (Pittsburgh, PA)
My first two children spit up very large quantities for several months. They spit up breast, bottle, and even soy milk. I wish I knew about the Avent bottle sooner. It did not stop the spitting completely, however; it lessoned it greatly. My third child did not have the same problem his two older siblings had.

"Doesn't live up to the hype...." 2001-07-02
By Sue Bee (Allison Park, PA USA)
Everyone says the best bottles are the Avent ones. I haven't found that to be true. My son never liked this one, and I've tried giving it to him a few times. Thankfully I only bought one to try out, so I didn't invest a lot of money. We just ended up buying the regular old Gerber ones--in the pretty colors of course (you can buy at least 6 for what 1 Avent bottle costs). I'll admit we never used the nipples that came with the Gerber bottles, but instead bought the silicone, ortho ones because they were the only ones my son seemed to be able to handle. I did buy some Avent "sippy cup" tops to replace the nipple since they will fit on this bottle, so we'll see how my son takes to those (maybe the bottle won't be a total loss).

"Good Product! I used these to line Breastflow bottles." 2009-02-27

I had some Breastflow bottles that weren't BPA-free and I used these liners inside the bottles. They worked well.

 "Bottles not BPA Free!!" 2008-12-17
By Robert V. Peters
Be forewarned the Tempo line contains BPA in the bottles! The ring touches the milk or formula (leakage of the neurotoxin can occur!). Why create a BPA-Free liner with a bottle that has polycarbonate in it? I got fooled... I don't want you to as well! Take care. Let's keep our babies safe!

"Great Liners and Bottle System" 2008-10-25
By Cindy (Oregon)
I love Avent bottles and when the scares came out about BPA, I knew I had to change bottles. Without knowing for sure if leaching BPA chemicals could hurt my baby in the long run, I started researching. These liners and the Tempo bottles are great, because you still get the Avent nipples, wide bottles, but no fear of BPA.
