"Great for the older kid!" 2009-10-03
By Mom2Two
This is the best! The piggyback has been a huge hit at our house with my almost 5 year old. We use it all the time. It was easy to install, although I was concerned about the brake lines as another reviewer stated that the piggy back interfered with her brake. The instruction don't really point out what to do. So I put the clips over the brake lines and we haven't had any brake issues.

One thing to remember is that, yes, the piggyback does make the stroller more cumbersome. In our case a 44" tall and 42 pound child is now riding on a board attached to the stroller, so yes a bit more pushing is involved. I also have to shorten my stride when the board is in use. That said I can still push the stroller, with both kids in it, one-handed.

The board is definitely worth it.

"Great way for my 5 year old to keep up with me" 2009-08-25
By R. Lake (LIC, NY)
I have been using the Piggy Back for a few months now, and absolutely love it! My baby is now 7 months old and loves to stare at my 5 year old daughter while we walk around the neighborhood together. She is a bit tall and weighs at least 45 pounds, but we get on just fine. The only problem is that if you have long legs, you will kick the board. It helps to extend the handlebar but nonetheless, it will get in the way of long strides.

Installation wasn't too bad and the stroller is still manageable to fold up with the Piggy Back.

Overall, I am very happy with my Uppa Baby stroller.

 "Not impressed" 2009-08-25
By DCSenators (Washington, DC)
I give this product 3 stars only because I am willing to entertain the possibility that 1) I couldn't figure out how to install it correctly (though I'm pretty good at that sort of thing generally); or 2) it works better with the new frame (mine is from 2007). Otherwise I would give it a 2 star.

My issues with this product were as follows:

1) It was very complicated to install, as it was hard to work it around the break.

2) Sometimes after I attached it the break would spontaneously engage while I was pushing the stroller.

3) Overall, it made the stroller extremely cumbersome--it is VERY heavy and did not steer smoothly. I have never used one of these skateboard things before, so perhaps that is just the price to pay, but I was unimpressed nonetheless.

4) Finally, it just was not comfortable for my son (I was using it with the bassinet attachment, not sure if that made a difference).

I returned this product (after another 20 minutes to take it off).

"Broke the second time we used it." 2009-12-07
By Kimberly Webb (Alexandria, VA)
I did a lot of research and after seeing the good mention in the Baby Bargains book we got this stroller for our 11 month old. It was easy to setup, just pop on the wheels and cup holder. The recline is very simple to use, it's basically just a drawstring and pulley system. I didn't love the way it folded up, you have to push in metal tabs with your thumbs - it always hurt when I did it. Our daughter loved the oversized sun shade and when it was real windy we just put it in front of her and it blocked her whole body. The second time we used it the buckle would not come apart. We had to take off her pants to get her out of the stroller. Even with her out the buckle still won't disengage. I had to send it back and can't risk getting another one. My mom (her nanny) thought the first time we used it that the buckle was too hard for her arthritic fingers to push to unlatch.

 "beautiful stroller" 2009-11-19
By lisa thomas (new york)
I just received my stroller today and I got the green color... This looks and feels like a well made, good quality stroller. I put my 4 month old and test drove around the house and he fell asleep in 5min. OPens and closes easily and I cant wait to take it on the town. I would prefer this stroller to taller people. I am 5'8 and this is perfect for me, but if I was a little shorter, I think it would eat me up. :) beautiful design, beautiful color, beautiful features. I love it. Definately worth the money. Just think of it like this: every time you go out and use it, you would have to go out 17 times 10$ each. Definately beats buying those cheap other brands of umbrella strollers. Make that investment.

 "Excellent Product" 2009-11-18
By D. Stamper (Texas, USA)
Excellent product. We bought this for our second child and are very satisfied. The design is great! We decided to go with this after testing the competitors (in stores and friends). The recline feature allows very young infants to ride and the size, weight, and ease of operation make this well worth the investment. The stand and shoulder strap are very convenient and great bonuses! Highly recommend this product!

"The color of the Maddy stroller doesn't match the swatch and pictures" 2009-11-18
By New Mother (Chicago, IL)
The stroller is okay (wheels are kind of cheap plastic), but I took issue with the fact that the green stroller the "Maddy" was not anywhere close to the picture shown in the UppaBaby stock photos. The photos show a muted pleasant green color--the actual green on the stroller is jarringly bright, almost neon green. Further, the green on the mesh stroller seat doesn't even match the green on the canopy or the back of the canopy. I called UppaBaby about this and they told me that it was just my computer monitor causing the computer discrepancy.

Particularly since this stroller isn't widely available in retail stores in many parts of the country, UppaBaby should have done a better job of having the pictures reflect the actual color of the stroller.

 "Great lightweight stroller" 2009-11-10
By E. Horstmeyer (Milwaukee, WI)
I started using this stroller before my daughter could sit up on her own. The reclining seat is awesome. This is very portable. If you plan on traveling with it I might recommend getting the bag. I haven't yet, but it would be nice. The awning didn't really keep the sun off my baby's face when she was 5 months old. I think it's because she was too little. All-in-all I'm glad I got this one. I love it.

 "Spills drinks everywhere" 2009-12-09
By ockeghem (Vancouver, BC Canada)
As the other reviews have noted, this cup holder does not hold drinks well. I tend to use it for hot drinks, especially this time of year, and I can't put the drinks in the holder until they're more than half empty -- otherwise they'll spill everywhere. If you intend to use this cup holder on any sort of sidewalk with any drink that doesn't have a tightly closed lid, it won't work: Any bounce from the sidewalk, and your drink will spray down the side of the stroller.

I haven't had any trouble with the chains breaking yet in the six weeks I've been using it, but the construction does seem flimsy, so I can see where that might happen in future. The flip-up design enabled by the chains is a nice idea in theory, but doesn't work in practice.

Interestingly, my cup holder came with a warning sticker on the bottom that you're not supposed to use it with hot drinks -- I guess this is UPPAbaby's acknowledgement that the design doesn't work because it spills and thus could be dangerous with hot drinks. But why waste money on a cup holder that will only hold some of the drinks you take along? It makes more sense to buy something that securely holds any drink you might want, instead. I'm going to be replacing it with the Jolly Jumper caddy.

 "Wish I'd bought two..." 2009-12-06
By R. Smith
Works great, comes off and back on easily or folds up when not in use. I wasn't sure I would need this when we bought it but I use it all the time. The only thing I wish is that we'd bought two so when my husband is with me, we can both have our drinks in them. Definitely recommend.

 "PIECE OF JUNK!" 2009-12-05
By Cupid
Don't buy this! Total waste of money. Chains always break. Drinks spill. Cups break. Such a mess. Sticks out so far you can't fit through standard doorways. Go with a Jolly Jumper or Joovy Organizer instead. Save yourself the headache.

 "horribly flawed" 2009-10-16
By Amy Olszak
Like most everyone else who owns the UPPAbaby Vista, I HATE the cupholder. I am always bumping it on things and it falls off... a couple of times with a drink in it, once with a $4 latte that spilled everywhere. :-( It just simply sticks out too far and isn't secure enough, though it is nice that it folds against the side when not in use (or you can just take it off completely). It would have been better if it attached to the inside of the handle, not the outside. But since I haven't found any other attachable cup holders that work I'm still using this one. I'm just more mindful not to get too close to anything on the side with my drink, and try to use only bottles with caps. No more cups without lids.

"Poor design but OK after some modification." 2009-09-17
By Mitchell Huang (Jersey City, NJ)
The chain fell apart on this cup holder as many other customer alluded to. Instead of returning it, I went to Lowes and purchased some replacement chains where the links are welded together. 10ft section costs about $8. I spend about 30 min and replaced all of the chains and it now works very well. However, Uppababy should have used better quality material for something that costs $24.

 "works as advertised" 2009-11-13
By Game Fan (New York)
We bought this product and returned the snap and go stroller(s) that were on our registry. This adapter works very well, and it allows the chicco car seat to lock into place, unlike the snap and go stroller that doesn't actually allow a chicco seat to lock. We have been using it for a month and are very happy, no complaints.

"Love it and can't be without it!" 2009-09-25
By FL. Mom (Sunny Florida)
So glad we got this adapter for our UppaBaby stroller! It's an absolute necessity and I couldn't imagine not having it. It makes life so much easier being able to take the baby car seat out of the car and just click it on to the stroller. It makes everything so compact compared to the other travel systems out there i.e. Graco, etc.

When the car seat adapter is connected, you will have plenty of room to get to the under carriage basket. The car seat is also at a great raised height so baby is nice and close to you. We are using the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat.

Nice thing as well is that the stroller will fold with no problems while the adapter is attached. The adapter is easily attached and detached from the stroller for times when you want to put on the other Uppababy parts like the bassinet or seat.

 "A Must Have...." 2009-09-05
By First Time Mom (North Carolina)
One of the deciding factors for choosing the Uppa Baby Vista Stroller was that it would be useful through so many of our baby's stages. Having the carseat adapter has made everything that much easier. We were able to integrate both of the products we wanted to purchase (carseat and stroller) without having to buy a snap and go type stroller separately. We highly recommend the adapter. If you're on the fence about it...don't hesitate....just order. You won't regret it.

 "Easy and secure" 2009-08-06
By DCSenators (Washington, DC)
First, if you own a Chicco car seat, you probably love it, as I do, but hate that it is so incompatible with different stroller models. Thankfully, Uppa Baby made this adapter for Chico car seats.

How it works:

- The frame locks into the base (and unlocks) just as easily as the regular seat does (and much easier than the bassinet).

- The car seat "falls" right into place just as it would into the car seat base, clicks audibly, and unlocks just as easily.

Another plus: with the car seat on, the basket is very accessible--much more so than when you're using the bassinet, for example.

As the other reviewer mentioned, the frame must be removed to fold the stroller, but this just takes a moment. Unlike that reviewer, we had no quality issues, so I cannot comment how often that happens.

Overall, I'm so thrilled with this adapter. I use it on my frame that I bought in Jan 2008, so it doesn't need the new frame, and I greatly prefer this combination to using the Chicco Cortina stroller that I used with my son.

 "Does what it should..." 2009-07-12
By Lalagirl (@the beach in Southern California)
We got this for our Vista stroller when we decided on the chicco carseat. The adapter attaches to the stroller easily and the carseat locks in to the adapter as it should. We have been out with our newborn at least a few times now, and have liked the fact that we can transfer our baby to the stroller without having to disturb him and take him out of the carseat (especially for short outings). I do have some criticisms. We had to return the first one we received because it was warped and didn't lock into our stroller right and it was then difficult to get the carseat to lock to it. The second one was much better (no problems, so far). The other thing is that the stroller frame wont collapse and lock (to put in trunk) with the adapter on it. This is a minor inconvenience we are willing to deal with to use this stroller.

Pros:

Allows us to use our Chicco carseat with Vista stroller.

Pretty solid fit with stroller and carseat.

Cons:

Possible quality control issues with manufacture (make sure it fits securely and the carseat locks in it)

Needs to be removed to fully close stroller frame for transport.
