Our daughter still uses this bouncer daily at 6 mos. old. It's basic and not as "fancy" as some of the pricier ones, but baby loves it! We also took the bar off for the first few weeks when baby isn't interested in toys yet. Then we switched out the toys it came with for our own, more interesting toys. The ones that come on it are kind of basic and boring - two are hard plastic elephants and then one stuffed giraffe. IT has a vibrate function that we didn't use too much since we thought it caused baby to more likely spit up.

This bouncer has been perfect for us. It's not bulky like its Rain Forest counterpart. The toys are bright and cheerful without being completely obnoxious and the vibrating feature kept our baby calm and entertained when we had to set him down for any period of time to put away groceries or prepare dinner.

The toy bar is easily removable, which we found helpful in our son's first few weeks as he wasn't as interested in them as in watching mom and dad. The seat is very easy to assemble and the seat cover is very washable. I've washed the seat cover several times since we've had it and the colors are still as vibrant and clear as the day we bought it.

My son is 6 months old now and we still are using this seat. We've only had to change the battery once even though we have forgotten several times to turn off the vibration feature after picking our son up and left it on for several hours before remembering to turn it off. In this case, the simplest solution is the best!

My 2 month old borrowed this during a recent stay at my in-law's house. She spent a lot of time in it and she even started reaching for the little elephants. I had a smaller bouncer for my now four month old daughter when she was born that had a simple hanging toy bar that she eventually grew out of and grew bored with... This bouncer did the trick! The lights keep her entertained and the music keeps her attention... and it's adorable too! The only problem is the music and lights stop without you turning them off after a certain amount of time.

I bought this for my daughter when she was three or four months old (she's now 2 1/2). Even if our next child is a boy, we'll probably still use this bouncer because it's held up very well, and amazingly, we never had to replace the batteries until two years later (when we brought it down from the attice to loan it to a friend). I found that most of the bouncers at the store were masculine-looking with lots of blue. This bouncer was just so cute and of course my daughter loved the butterflies and song. Even now when we go to my friend's house, who is borrowing the bouncer from us, my 2 1/2 year-old daughter tries to climb back into it and sits in it (until I tell her to get out), somehow she remembers being in it when she was a baby!

I am a first time grandmother and I used the Joovy play yard for my 10 month old grandson. It reminded me of the old play pens that I used for my own children BUT....much better!! It was easy to asssemble and was able to roll it to another room or outside. The cover for the bottom pad is soft and cozy for the baby....especially for sleeping! This play yard is soooooo much better than putting the baby in a "pack n' play". Much roomier. Very sturdy and safe. My daughter loved it too and was confident with the safety factor of the play pen when leaving the baby alone. Great product! Oh and one more thing...this was my first purchase from Amazon...fantastic service!

First of all let me say I don't know what I would do without this! My little girl just turned 8 months old and she is all over the place and into everything! Parents you know what I am talking about, you have a mat and all kinds of fun toys and the child wants everything they should not have! This keeps my little girl content and safe. Oh and the sheet that comes with the Joovy is soooo soft! The only thing I can say bad about the item was the instructions were a bit confusing. I am sure part of my problem was as a first time parent it seemed confusing. The toll free number for Joovy out of Texas offered a great bit of help and were very kind. What I learned is you can not lock the arms until you lift the small flap in the center, it must be drawn up in the center, when you are trying to put it together.

We have the "'lemon" Joovy and LOVE IT! We only wish we could of got it for our daughter sooner. I was putting it away today since we have moved to a SuperYard XT and I tried for 30 minutes to fold the Joovy down before I had to give up... The instructions on how to fold down are worthless so I decided to Google it and found M. Martin's comment. THANK YOU!! I read your review and folded it down in 10 seconds. Yes it is a little trickier to fold than the pack n play but Joovy is far superior to Graco and well worth the money for all the extra square footage you get and quality of the mesh, bars, etc.... My overall review for this is excellent and I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for the best quality play yard.

This is a really great play yard that is safe, strong and stable. I did a lot of research in search of a suitable "containment" area for my busy one year old and am really pleased with this choice. This thing is built super strong and I like that it does not have a weight limit, unlike my Graco Pack n' Play's 30lb limit. My son is now almost two and the Room 2 really does provide a large and safe play area for when I am trying to get that time in to clean up around the house and cook dinner. It is spacious enough to put several toddlers in it at the same time and because it is bigger my son seems to tolerate playing in it for longer periods of time. It is also very easy to set-up and collapse down since I mostly use it on the weekends. Yes, it is heavier than the Pack n' Play, but I also know I will get several more years of use out of this play yard with a rough and tumble growing boy. So, keep the Pack n' Play for portability and trips out to grandma's house, but get the Joovy Room 2 for every day use in and around the house.

CALMING

When all else fails, this calms my son (4 months old), and has since he was born (I used a different chair that fully reclined until he could hold his head up).



The vibration unit is great at calming my son.



CONSTRUCTION

The bouncer is sturdy and having used 4 different chairs now, I see that the construction of this chair is well done. The chair legs suspend the seat and are strong but have enough give that when you apply pressure with your foot you can get a nice bounce rhythm going.



My only misgiving is that the seat orientation is not adjustable. Baby will be in a constant reclined position, about a 45 degree angle. But as I look around, I don't see any other chairs now that adjust. Maybe the ability to adjust the chair posed a danger? So this still gets 5 stars.



ENTERTAINING

My son loves to look at and bat at the toys. The toy bar is removable so when he's had enough I can take it away. The middle toy is a plush detachable owl. The side toys are hard plastic and do not come off the bar. The fabric is more attractive in person that online for some reason.



BOTTOM LINE

For a baby that doesn't like to be set down, this is the only thing that allows me to have my hands free and calms my son when he's having a melt down. It has all the things I need in a bouncer and at the best price! It is a must have for me!

If you need a basic bouncer for occasional use, this one may fit the bill. It's attractive, has a mild vibration setting, and has a decent enough reclined position. However, my son is not a huge fan (maybe he'll grow into it), probably because it's a bit boring and not very soft. Also, it lacks a newborn insert so you'll need to use a rolled up blankie if that's how you plan to use the chair.

I wouldn't give it big thumbs up or down. It's kind of lackluster.

I'm still trying to figure out why this bouncer cost so much less than the other ones when it really is a wonderful product. It does the job and looks good while doing it. My twins love it, so I'm thinking of buying a second one. (Right now I rotate them in other activities.) The person who gave it four stars because it has a vibrating option and because they stubbed toes is really kind of silly. The first issue isn't a problem--no one is forcing you to use the vibration feature and the stubbing toe issue will likely happen with any bouncer. This is the least expensive bouncer I could find and it is really cute. Perhaps the decor is a bit on the autumnal side with the browns and oranges, but that is easily overlooked at such a great price.

We also have the Boppy bouncer but my son loves this one the best. The motion of the Boppy concentrates on the lower part of the body while this one focuses on the top half so I guess he prefers this one. The only drawback is that he's only 3 months old and it looks like he may grow out of it soon; some of the other Fisher Price bouncers are bigger. Overall, this goes to show that a more expensive bouncer does not mean better.
